Over the years, our team has guided and led multiple large-scale initiatives with Aon. From leading industry transforming strategies to changing how technology initiatives are driven to navigating the enterprise to a successful cloud migration, our team members have enabled Aon to be an industry leader!
Industry Transforming Strategy
Working with Aon’s commercial business lines, we recognized a significant gap between brokers and carriers when processing Surety Bonds. Surety was largely a paper-based industry with the agent/broker collecting information, filling out a form, then emailing – or sometimes printing and faxing – the form to the carrier. From there, the carrier employees would re-key the information into their systems. In addition to being time-consuming and laborious, the redundant manual keying introduced multiple failure points and increased errors and omissions.
Working with Aon, we cast a vision to fully automate policy transactions between four of the nation’s largest insurance companies (one broker and three carriers). Additionally, we led the initiative which became world’s first to implement the full suite of ACORD message transactions for surety. During this project, numerous revisions and new messages were created and submitted through the ACORD organization to be ratified as part of the surety standard. This initiative resulted in a significant cost savings for each organization involved (including reduction of manual labor and a drastic decline in errors and omissions.
Changing How Technology Initiatives are Delivered
Our team members led the creation of a large underwriting and policy management solution. This was a 34,000 person-hour project envisioning a new concept for the industry and introducing a new technology for Aon. Our team members led this project to a successful completion 18% ahead of time and budget! As a result, Aon asked our team members to equip them with our strategic program oversight methodology. Over the next several years, this methodology proved to be a game changer for Aon as they grew organically and through mergers and acquisitions.
Navigating the Enterprise to a Successful Cloud Migration
Aon was in the process of moving their infrastructure to the cloud; however, the project, led by the third party vendor, was in jeopardy of failure (over 50% over-budget and far behind schedule). Our team members were engaged to perform a project rescue. We evaluated numerous alternatives, provided our recommendations to executive management, then brought structure and accountability to the project and got the team back on track to meet deadlines and realize $3 Million annual savings.
